Bethany has loved music since she was a young child. Music was a part of growing up with her dad playing guitar and piano at home and Bethany and her sister participating in church choir. Bethany began taking piano lessons when she was 10 and continued to excel throughout her school years. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, she had many opportunities to use what she was learning to serve in the church and was one of the church pianists during high school. Bethany’s love for Jesus and for music led her to Moody Bible Institute to study in their music program. She learned a lot about how to connect with an audience through solo opportunities in Moody’s Handle’s Messiah performances, chapel services, recitals and touring with the Moody Chorale. It was during this time that she started to take an interest in worship leading and songwriting. Bethany conducted her internship at New Life Community Church in Chicago (Bridgeport) where she took on the Music Ministry Coordinator role. She learned valuable lessons about team leadership and working in ministry.

Bethany met her husband, Matt, while working during college and they were married in 2009. The couple stayed in Chicago after finishing their degrees and over the coming years added three boys to their family - Cyrus, Elim, and Ransom. Their family stayed at New Life Bridgeport and through the years Bethany served in roles as the Office Manager, a youth leader, one of the worship leaders, and a small group leader. Some other ways she has shared music with others has been through writing songs with her best friend which they released on an album, creating a YouTube channel, teaching voice and piano lessons, and leading worship for chapel at a faith based private school. Bethany and her family followed God’s call to join in with what He is doing at Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church in the fall of 2025 and they look forward to the future! In her spare time you will find Bethany thrifting, running, enjoying nature, or spending time with her family.
